Snacks:

Light Popcorn (it"s inexpensive and you can eat a lot more than regular snacks)

Baby Carrots with a light dressing

Apples & Almond Butter (with the peanut butter recalls, I"ve found almond butter does the same trick and is tastier)

Trail Mix (make sure you"re buying the "healthy trail mix" that has berries, nuts, and seeds w/ minimal salt or you can make your own)

Fiber One Pop Tart and low-fat or no-fat glass of milk

Home-Made Smoothie: Frozen Mixed Berries w/ Low/No Fat Vanilla Yogurt, Low/No Fat Milk, and a scoop of vanilla whey protien mix (perfect for breakfast)

Meals:

Healthy Spaghetti: Barilla Plus Thin Spaghetti (it"s loaded with fiber but tastes like regular pasta…it"s amazing)

Preggo Garden Vegetable Sauce

Turkey Meatballs (which you can usually find in the frozen food section or you can make your own, or substitute a lean chicken breast for the turkey meatballs).

Other good items to eat: Sweet potatoes (which you can bake, add a little salt, pappirika, and pepper and it replaces Fries), Peppers (if you hate peppers, pop a red pepper in the food processor and add it to your spaghetti sauce, you can"t tell the difference).

Hope this helps.

If your trying to cut down bodyfat lower fat is good but trying to go on a low fat diet is a poor choice the good fats help produce your hormones to build muscle they help fight craveing"s ect

insted as a personal trainer and fitness model for 2 years now i would def drop your carbs if anything

but alot of my snacks consist of protein shakes, salads (with nothing on them)

peanuts ,strawberrys, watermelon, low calorie yogurt ,lots of celorie i eat about 8 meals a day every 2 hours at the end of the day i only eat around 1700 calories high protein and fat low carb is def the way to go for droping some serious pounds just dont plan on gaining any type of muscle this way.

What are some low fat, healthy meals that are simple to cook?

Try to stick to chicken or fish, first off. Then you can either poach or grill them. To poach chicken, for example, you put water in a pot, put in bay leaves, peppercorns (or ground black pepper), maybe a little wine, carrots, celery, leeks– whatever you have that will add a little flavor to the water and thus the meat. This way, you aren"t adding a lot of fat by sauteeing or frying it.

Fish you can poach if it"s something hearty like a salmon steak. If not, you can wrap it in foil with a little lemon juice and bake it for a short time until it"s cooked through. Fish takes a short time to cook, so be careful to check it often. Baking chicken takes longer. Make sure you peel off the skin before you bake it– skin is a big source of calories and fat.

As to side dishes, stick to vegetable like broccoli or green beans. You can poach them, too. Then sprinkle with, perhaps, lemon pepper to add more flavor. Lentils and brown rice are good, healthy side dishes for your starch.

Try to get low fat, low calorie bread. Here in the US there"s a bread that is 35 calories per slice and is whole grain, which is very good for you. Typically, a regular slice of bread is very heavy on calories.

Also, make sure all your dairy products are fat free if possible. Even low fat products have a lot of fat in them.

Good luck to you!
