Losing weight is a simple equation: if you burn more calories than you eat, the weight will come off. Start off by estimating how many calories you burn each day using the daily calorie needs calculator Http://calorieneedscalculator.com This will give you an idea of how many calories to eat. Healthy weight loss is 1-2 pounds per week. To lose 1 pound per week you need to create a calorie deficit (burn more than you eat) of 500 calories per day. To lose 2 pounds a week, you have to double the deficit to 1000 calories per day. You can achieve this by eating less, exercising more or a combination of both.

The Risks of Losing Weight? Please Help?

Hey guys, recently I"ve chosen to lose weight, I want to lose 30-40 lbs so I can be around 120 lbs. But if I do lose weight, will my strength be gone? Strength as in being able to pick heavy stuff up and in rare cases hit people; self defense. I don"t want to lose weight if that means losing strength as well and becoming weak. Will I lose strength if I lose weight?

Losing weight is frustrating. It’s tough to find a diet that actually works when most of the companies behind them don’t want you to lose weight at all. Because if you actually lose weight and keep it off, they lose a customer. But now there are weight loss solutions that are available that will help you to lose weight permanently without having to give up your favorite foods, do excessive exercise, or damage your body by denying it the fats, calories, carbohydrates and nutrition you need to function. You’ll lose weight fast the right way and keep the weight off for good. You’ll look and feel your best with a slim and firm waist line. You’ll turn heads, and get the attention you never imagined.

Can anyone help mee lose weight?

Hey,

im 18, 6 foot and my whole life i have had a lean body. I played soccer and all sorts and i was always out and active. Never had a weight problem and i dont think i should.

Like a year ago i got depressed, (yes sad…. But im over it) when i was depressed i put on about 20 pounds of fat, all over my body especially my stomach, you get the idea……….

I think my metabolism is still OK because im not putting on any weight but im not losing any.

Right now i weigh 190 pounds, apparently my ideal weight is around 170?

I thought i wanted to get big muscles, but what i really want is my old body back. I wana be thin, i wana have a lean body and be able to wear my clothes and feel good with no fat around. Id give anything for it. My entire life is revolved around me thinking im fat, and i know it too… The mirror doesnt lie.

I wana have a flat stomach again, and just a general lean body… Okay so thats my sad life in 30 seconds.

Im just wondering can anyone tell me how to lose the 20 pounds?

Right now im on 6 weeks vacation with literally nothing to do. And i wana start losing weight.

I know i cant lose 20 pounds fast because its bad, but i just wana make a start at it.

Even 10 pounds would be a fantastic start, i want my thin face back.

Il literally do ANYTHING, whatever exercises whenever i have to……

Eat whatever i have to at whatever time…….

I just need HELP.. Im lost…

Thanks, if anyone can help i guess…

You don’t have a big weight problem, as you would have a healthy weight losing a couple of pounds, at 188 pounds (BMI-for-age at the 84th percentile) but you have a body fat percentage problem.

Information Entered

Age: 18 years

Sex: Boy

Height: 6 feet

Weight: 188 pounds

Results

Based on the height and weight entered, the BMI is 25.5, placing the BMI-for-age at the 84th percentile for boys aged 18 years. This teen has a healthy weight.

You need to lose fat reserves (aerobics), gain muscle mass (weight training) and eat healthy (your BMR is about 2,040 calories).

Go back to playing sports, gain as much muscle mass as you can using weight machines and eat enough but not too much.

For the same mass, muscle mass is 3 times heavier than fat reserves (or you could say muscle mass takes 3 times less space than fat reserves for the same weight so you get thinner without even losing weight).

You should eat enough calories to cover your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) or your body will adapt to a low caloric intake and lower your metabolism, making it very hard for you to use your fat reserves. And then, as soon as you would eventually start eating normally again, you would make fat reserves very easily, because you would have a lower metabolism and therefore regain all the weight you lost and keep going up, unless you exercise A LOT.

Men’s Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR):

66 + (6.23 x weight in pounds) + (12.7 x height in inches) – minus (6.8 x age in years)

Do not focus on the scale. As long as you’re eating enough to cover your BMR and not too much above that and that you exercise, you will lose one pound of fat reserves for each 3,500 calories of exercising, no matter what the scale indicates.

Losing one pound of fat reserves does not mean losing one pound of weight because it does not take into account muscle mass gain (which is very good) and water and waste fluctuations, which can be huge and are very confusing and irrelevant since only temporary because eventually, your body settles down. Eating healthier and drinking more water will make you lose water retention (less sodium) and waste (more fiber and better regularity).

Do not have a “diet” diet, where you’re told what to eat, just eat healthy, have a simple healthy diet, so you can satisfy your cravings and you can answer your body’s need for some missing nutrients. Like if I’m building muscle mass, I’ll need a lot of carbs to do the weight training (because it’s anaerobic and fat burning shuts down) and then I’ll get huge cravings for eggs, nuts or a good juicy filet mignon (need for proteins for the “repairing stronger” part) otherwise, I would only eat eggs or meat like once a week.

Eating healthy is about avoiding the unhealthy food as much as possible. Once you stay away from fast food (any restaurant food, really), packaged and boxed food (except for bread, pasta and rice, if you don’t make your own bread/pasta), canned food, prepared and processed food, then you’re left with the fruits/veggies, whole wheat food (the brown kind of bread, pasta), brown rice, lean meat, low fat dairies, eggs and the good kind of oil (olive, avocado, nuts, fish). You can have any of the bad stuff occasionally so they don’t become forbidden obsessions. Have some French fries, or one slice of pizza (with your favorite veggies) or a cookie, once in a while. Just don’t do it every day and watch for portion sizes.

Also the cooking method can double the calorie content of a meal, so learn about healthy cooking without having to add extra fats, like using a steamer (using water), a rotisserie (using heat and herbs), a slow cooker (using homemade broth and herbs), a pressure cooker, a grill…

Once you cook your own meals, you can control the calorie content because your control the cooking method and all the ingredients. A lot of people are overweight because they keep eating food that they did not cook.
